large 4to, [8], 124 pp. Light bump to upper spine. Illustrated by PAUL KLEE. Translated by W. D. SNODGRASS and LORE SEGAL. Original pictorial boards, jacket design by QUINTIN FIORE.Morgenstern's poems of the absurd are the fruit of extreme abstraction. They ridicule not only the absurd and meaningless situations, but also theories ideas and poems which are only the simple reflections and expressions of those absurd realities. Klee's abstract drawings - reproduced tastefully - are extremely adequate to the text.
