William Kentridge - Softcover

Examining the black and white animated films of William Kentridge, this volume discusses the political and philosophical dimensions of drawing, a term the artist applies equally to his works on paper, film and theatre productions. Neal Benezra is Deputy Director and a Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Art Institute of Chicago. William Kentridge is a South African artist whose work has involved animated use of animation in drawings, film, and theatre. He has won numerous European awards for his work, and an exhibition of his films and drawings was organised by the Palais des Beaux-Arts, Brussels, in 1998, and toured several venues in Europe.
