Rick Hawkins is Senior Pastor of the Family Praise Center in San Antonio, Texas, which he founded in 1993. Family Praise Center is dedicated to sharing the uncompromised love and message of Jesus Christ, which is reflected in the integrated, multicultural, growing congregation of over 4,500 members. “The physical, spiritual, and cultural landscape of a city, state, and nation should be imprinted with the influence of the body of Christ,” insists Rick Hawkins. San Antonio is marked with his ministry philosophy. Pastor Rick is the founder of The School of Excellence in Education, a public charter school in San Antonio, and The Nehemiah Institute, established to educate at-risk students who have been rejected by the public school system. Pastor Rick functions in the role of bishop in the covering of a select group of local and international churches and ministries, including satellite churches and the Apostolic Training Center, an institution for leadership training. He was the first non-African American to receive San Antonio’s Black Achievement Award for excellence in ministry and society. In pursuing his passion for impact, Pastor Rick established a ministerial network, which includes in its circle of influence members throughout the nation and around the world. Recently Rick combined two of his life’s greatest passions, ministry and team roping, in an outreach to the great American cowboy in arenas and rodeos throughout the nation. Rick Hawkins is an international speaker and author of numerous books, tapes, and teaching series. Rick lives on a working ranch near San Antonio with his family. Rick has three children and three grandchildren.
