From School Library Journal:
PreS–These deceptively simple poems, sometimes silly and consistently sweet, are perfect for infants and toddlers. A pig dreams of slops for breakfast. Pandas look forward to bamboo. Peacock can't wait for the sun to highlight its gorgeous feathers, and the owls are getting ready for a good day's sleep. "Whoo-whoo-whoo!/When the morning/Grows blue-whoo-whoo,/It's â Good night' for us,/And â Good morning'/For you-whoo-whoo." The selections are filled with plenty of onomatopoeic sound and fun wordplay. Kolanovic's watercolor illustrations depict the action and enhance the warm and friendly tone of the verses with soft yellows, greens, and light blues. The cover art is sunny and appealing, guaranteeing shelf action for this charming collection.– Carol L. MacKay, Camrose Public Library, Alberta, Canada
