KEN WHITING is a World Champion kayaker, five-time National Champion, and one of the most influential paddlers in the world. For over fourteen years, Ken has shared his enthusiasm for paddling through his teaching and by producing a series of best-selling, award-winning instructional books and DVDs. In recognition of his accomplishments and contributions to advancing the sport of kayaking, Paddler Magazine, named Ken one of their ""Paddlers of the Century"".

Ken Whiting: Since dedicating himself to his whitewater profession/obsession 14 years ago, Ken has become one of the most recognized and respected whitewater athletes in the world and has been a principle leader of the freestyle kayaking movement. As an athlete, Ken has won competitions across the globe, including the World Freestyle Kayaking Championships in 1997, the Japan Open in 1998, and he is a 5-time Canadian champion. Off the water, Ken has written and produced a series of best selling and award winning instructional books and videos, including The Playboater's Handbook (I and II), Play Daze, SOAR and Liquid Skills, and he has been a contributing editor for virtually every kayaking magazine around the world. Ken is the president of the Canadian Freestyle Kayaking Association, and the freestyle representative within Whitewater Canada. He is also a partner and instructor for Canada's largest kayak school (Liquid Skills), as well as for the adventure travel company Kayak Futaleufu, with whom he leads trips to Chile's Futaleufu Valley.
