John F. Kennedy carried on a lifelong love affair with England and the English. CHRISTOPHER SANDFORD has written on pop culture and postwar affairs for a range of publications, including The Times, Rolling Stone, America, The Spectator, and others. He is the author of two dozen books, including Harold and Jack: The Remarkable Friendship of Prime Minister Macmillan and President Kennedy. He lives in Seattle and London.
