From School Library Journal:
Grade 3-4?These series titles focus on teams who have succeeded by combining their individual talents. The writing is simple and contains the necessary facts and dates, but also conveys enough detail about these peoples' lives to make them seem real to young readers. Perhaps more importantly, the texts show how the partners began small?for example, how Bowerman created the Nike "waffle sole" on his waffle iron (the fumes later affected his health). There is a tendency to be somewhat breathless at points, with some fictionalizing, but it doesn't detract from the overall result. The full-color illustrations are serviceable, but not particularly instructive or useful in understanding the subjects. Average fare for the biography shelves.?Christine A.
