From the Author:
We've talked about placing a devotional book in the hands of widows since the start of A Widow's Might in 2009 and well into the birth of our umbrella ministry, aNew Season. Finally--here it is. When I think of all the ladies not yet online now being able to access these writings, my heart melts.
I picture For the Love of Her Life, our book of daily devotions, as a night-table book. One that perhaps someone got for her as a gift of love, knowing how much she is hurting. And at first it sits next to her, unopened.
Until at some point, she's up late at night and needs to hear from other widows. Finally she'll pull it from her night table to begin reading, letting the comfort of Christ wash over her.
These daily devotionals come straight from our website. They have been proven over the years to bring comfort--the kind that lasts beyond the feel-good hug or reassuring smile, because they bring the comfort of God's Truth.
aNew Season Ministries ministers in the trenches of grief and beyond grief into vicotrious living through a walk with Christ. For the widow, when it seems no one else understands because they haven't lived it, anewseason.net is just a click away and able to minister to her.
We pray that this devotional becomes a way for a widow's friends and famiy to reach out to her. How many times have I been asked to mentor a widow, speak to her--tell her her life isn't over. How many times have a widow's loved ones begged me to let her know that she has purpose and there are healthy ways to deal with grief?
And I do. And so do all the writers on our team.
But what about the widow who hasn't physically come across our path?
This devotional book can be given to her right there when the loss is fresh. It's like giving her a whole network of many women who have successfully navigated grief--women of many ages and situations with one thing in common--the knowledge that Christ is the answer to healing.
When the funeral is done and everyone's gone home, she will eventually find herself in that place--face to face with her solitude. That's when her friends and family will want this devotional, written by many, to comfort her. As she reads through story after story, she'll get it. She's not alone. Many have walked before her--joyfully.
We've decided to publish these devotionals in three month seasonal cycles. We have enough for a year long daily devotional, but to publish it in one book would make for a large book unless we abridged the writers' work or made the font so small it would become hard to read.
We pray you or your loved one will be blessed by these writings and hope to engage with you at our conferences or online at anewseason.net
God bless you!

From the Inside Flap:
My prayer is that, as you read these daily devotions, you will be encouraged to live life again. You are a beautiful daughter of the King and He has more left for you to experience and give to others in this life. The writers at A Widow's Might/aNew Season are so blessed with the opportunity to share our writings with you as we journey together on the path of widowhood. Your heart will sing again.
~Elizabeth Dyer~The breeze of summer can brighten our hearts with a light and airy hope. They can also deepen our pain with a caressing reminder of the love we lost. We pray you will settle in with us during your quiet time each day and read how over a dozen women each faced the same loss you have and have endured the summers as you are enduring. Not only endured but grown and drew closer to each other and to our Father in Heaven who loves you.
