Being raised by a father determined to be a survivalist in North Idaho can be difficult. This is about my relation with my dad LCDR John J. Keuter, Jr. and how our difference in opinions caused strain in our awkward relationship. Guns, airplanes, hunting and being raised on a small working ranch all come into play. With respect and love of my dad, this book is to bring an honest view of events and correct an incorrect obituary done at his death.

About the Author:
Erin Keuter Laughlin was born in Milton, Florida and raised in North Idaho on a small family ranch. While growing up she was trained in classical piano and played clarinet. She was also known for being an artist, poet and photographer. The interest she had in nature and the environment greatly influenced her life. While most youth in their teen years may have had posters of teen idols that decorated their rooms, Erin had displays of model airplanes and pictures of wildlife. She graduated from North Idaho College with A.A. Degrees in English, Art History and Sociology. Currently, she lives in North Idaho where she is an administrator for a children's museum as part of her ongoing volunteer work. She is devoted to work in her community. Erin has been doing a series of Radio Broadcasts involving education and bringing nature into reach of children. Emergence is her second book for children as part of an ongoing project. Her first book is O'my Opossums, which is a real life adventure about raising orphaned opossums in her home and the many surprises involved. As Erin is busy going from project to project her time is spent furthering her own education by participating in the Jane Goodall Roots and Shoots program along with other studies.
