Rev. Paul L. Jakes Jr., is a native of Chicago, Illinois. He serves as President and Chairman of the Christian Council on Urban Affairs, and is pastor of New Tabernacle of Faith Baptist Church. Jakes received his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Chicago State University, attended Virginia Union School of Theology and is a graduate of the Seminary Consortium for Urban Pastoral Education. Jakes is pending graduation in the fall from Northern Baptist Seminary. He is a fully ordained minister with more than thirty years of community service. Rev. Jakes has a heart for God’s people and desires to reach the lost and broken-hearted with the message of God’s Love.
