About the Author:
About the Author Sis. Kimberly Marie Hartfield is an Ordained Minister in the Evangelical Faith, and has received a Master of Science Degree in Christian Counseling from William Carey University in 2009. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2004 with minors in both Religion and English. She lives in Hattiesburg, MS, and is a mother of eight children and several grandchildren. She is the founder and president of Go Fish Ministries, Inc. an advocacy group for victims of sexual and domestic violence. Go Fish Ministries, Inc is primarily for victims of sexual and domestic violence, but is also a ministry for the unchurched and churched population in general, as Jesus said, "Follow me and I will teach you to fish for others." She believes that as many biblical writers were less than perfect, ordinary people with a strong faith, that with her own strong faith, God can and will do something extraordinary in her less than perfect, ordinary life. She began this paraphrase shortly after receiving her first degree from WCU. It was the result of many months of study and comparisons of other versions, which for one reason or another didn’t seem quite satisfactory for ease of reading and keeping the basic Scriptural intent. After searching through most available common versions, she was led to begin a paraphrase of the Psalms and Proverbs as a beginning for the paraphrase of the New Testament. Kim has been called to the homeland mission field of North America and hopes to be able to use this unique and easily readable paraphrase of the New Testament and the Psalms and Proverbs as a tool for the ministry of witnessing to the grace of God and comforting God’s people with the truth of God’s mercy. She claims II Corinthians 3 & 4 as her calling, which states: “May Yahweh God be blessed, the God our Christ Yeshua comes from, the God all mercies come from, and the God all comforts come from; Who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we may be able to comfort those, who are in any kind of trouble, with the same kind of comfort that we ourselves have been comforted with by God.” She believes that the Christian community’s ultimate authority is the guidance of the human heart by the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.
