BLOOM by Paul Solberg [is] a gorgeous book of the most exquisite photographs of flowers, all taken in a stark studio setting, thus accentuating their unique details.

NORTH SHORE NEWS, "Inspiration for the garden," Terry Peters, October 26, 2005

Flowers are the glorious mixture of clour and form that is nature's gift.

The arrival of a flower's bloom is the most anticipated peak moment of its life. To capture that highlight requires a degree of patience that escapes most people.

By taking the photographs for this book in this confines of the studio, Paul Solberg has freed the flowers of the competion that normally occurs in the garden. Able to stand alone, away from other plants and even their own leafy support, the flowers are allowed to capture your entire attention. With a clean white background and high-key lighting Solberg focues on the beauty of the individual flower, its shape and colour that define it. Each page brings another revelation of beauty. Each photograph another example of what can happen when art and nature are brought together.

About the Author:
Paul Solberg most recently worked in the world of finance and before that in the advertising department of Jaguar America. He is also an independent filmmaker, who worked with Stephen Kinsella on the American indie classic, "Double Parked" (2002). He lives in New York City.

Christopher Makos is a world-renowned photographer, editor, designer, whose work has been exhibited at galleries and museums worldwide. His latest book, EXHIBITIONISM (Glitterati, 2004), was a collaboration with Calvin Klein on studies of the male nude. His forthcoming book, EQUIPOSE, will be published in fall 2005 (Glitterati). He lives in New York City.

Ralph Pucci started out in fashion, taking his father’s mannequin business to new heights by making mannequins in active poses. His collaboration with Andree Putman initiated his foray into the larger design arena; not only did they work together in designing a revolutionary mannequin, he now represents the furniture collections of Putman and more than fifteen other international designers and artists who create contemporary furniture, lighting, rugs and sculpture. Pucci is known to possess unusual artistic intuition and has brought many fledgling, under-the-radar-talents—from Chris Lehrecke to Spencer Fung—to the big league by exhibiting their work at Ralph Pucci International in New York City.
