From the Back Cover:
Honeydew
(c) Jeanetta Britt
You love honeydew
The color and shape appeal to you
The flavor and texture fulfills your needs
You're even willing to put up with the seeds.
But they're out of season now
And the taste is a little suspect
You bought one anyhow
And ate it to your regret.
You can eat it out of season
And mess around with the mushy pulp
Or wait for the former and latter rain
And the goodness of God to show up.
In His time, there'll be a season
For your honeydew
And you'll find fruit in season
Tastes real, real sweet to you.
About the Author:
Jeanetta Britt is a bestselling author and an award-winning poet who graduated Magna Cum Laude from Fisk University and finished Top Ten with a Master's degree from The University of Michigan. Her passion for writing contemporary Christian Fiction novels--filled with lots of juicy drama and suspense--as well as, Gospel poetry, surfaced in 1996 and has grown steadily since that time. "While being swept up in the story," Jeanetta says, "I want my readers to feel the love of Jesus and take refuge in Him, like I did." After completing a 30-year career in public administration in Dallas, Texas, Jeanetta returned to her native Alabama to write and to live. Her southern roots are reflected in her imagery, characters, and delightfully witty storytelling style. She is a sought-after inspirational speaker, by youth and adults alike, with six novels and five books of poetry to her credit. Jeanetta is also an avid gardener and community advocate, and she founded Twelve Stones CDC--a non-profit organization that operates two community gardens in rural Alabama. "We provide free, fresh food for our community and an opportunity for our youth and senior citizens to form that vital intergenerational connection, and to get some free exercise, companionship and sunshine, too," she says. "No rules--just love!"
