The novel gets off to a slow start with lots of stage arranging and the introduction of numerous unappealing characters including the hero. Hunter's considerable talent for describing spell-binding action comes to the fore when Simon Quarry finally gets down to the serious business of murder and revenge. Then the pace picks up quickly and continues at fever pitch right to the bullet-riddled conclusion. Solid entertainment; recommended for all popular fiction collections.
