Nursing Frontiers: Accountability and the Boundaries of Care - Softcover

The purpose of this book is to explore key issues affecting the development of nursing practice as we enter the new century. Beginning with a topical discussion and exploration of the claim of nursing to be the 'caring profession', the meaning of caring and the conventional notion of nursing as a profession is explored and challenged. The book then goes on to review the implications and impact of the UKCC Scope of Professional Practice document that was published in 1992 and which has had a dramatic effect upon nursing roles. This is coupled with a discussion of some of the key legal issues that relate to expanding nursing roles.

The second part of the book draws upon these foundations and looks at a range of approaches to the development of nursing practice and the question of translating evidence into practice.
