From Library Journal:
Another general overview of women's health, this book contains good, basic information about female anatomy, physiology, and sexuality. The sections on birth control and sexually transmitted diseases are current, although the effectiveness of natural family planning is exaggerated. The advice on nutrition, health maintenance, and choosing healthcare is sound. There are also eight color anatomy plates, line drawings, a glossary, and a brief referral list. At twice the size and a lower price, The New Our Bodies Ourselves (LJ 2/1/93) offers deeper, more comprehensive coverage of women's health and related policy issues. In addition, its extensive bibliographies and referral lists make it a superior reference source. The Good Housekeeping Illustrated Guide to Woman's Health is a good choice for circulating collections in need of general women's health material.
